ET Index Series Overview

The ET Carbon Rankings form the basis for the ET Index Series, which is designed to direct the global investment system towards a rapid reduction of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.

The EIO's ET Index Series is designed specifically to incentivise companies to reduce their emissions and increase standards of disclosure, whilst offering the same risk/return profile as conventional mainstream indexes.

In June 2011 the EIO commissioned two pilot indexes: the ET UK 100 and ET Europe 300. These were based on the ET UK 100 and ET Europe 300 Carbon Rankings, which were based purely on Scope 1 & 2 emissions.

The EIO is currently developing the new generation of the Global ET Index Series, based on Scope 1, 2 & 3 emissions, with a major index provider in order to have the index series calculated and disseminated on a real-time basis.
